A WAY OF SEEING

A painting begins with a stroke of water followed by a stroke of pigment. From there, intuition takes over and an image begins to emerge. My approach is abstract and intuitive, encompassing
color, texture, collage, ink, an idea, a place, a feeling. I learn patience and the art of being surprised.

My art comes unbidden. It emerges through the third eye, the sixth chakra, the center of intuition and deep seeing. The third eye leads.

I cannot replicate the beauty of the natural world but I am inspired by it. I often feel myself wandering through the world as if in a watercolor landscape where light and shadow play. I let
the medium do its work to discern essence or create a feeling, lacking pre-conception.

When a composition is pleasing, beauty is achieved and a fresh reflection emerges. When the creation is pleasing to another, or speaks of an insight, beauty is magnified.
